HOW IT STARTED

  • 9/11 triggered the war in Afghanistan
  • Nearly 3,000 people were killed
  • 4 planes were hijacked by terrorist
  • America had to fight back

WHO LED THE TERRORIST

  • Osama bin laden started six camps under his own leadership
  • Named these camps "Al Qaeda" meaning The Base

OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM

  • America began war on Afghanistan on October 7th 2001
  • United Kingdom and Australia were our first allies

LOCATING OSAMA

  • On May 1, 2011, Osama Bin laden was killed
  • It took America 10 years to locate bin Laden
  • Osama was only 75 miles from Pakistan's capital

ENDING THE WAR

  • By the end of 2014, Obama plans to have no troops in combat
  • No evidence as to when the war will be over

FUNDING

  • 753.3 billion has been given for the was in Afghanistan
  • It is believed the war will cost 4-6 trillion by the end
