  • "War is kind." He feels war is pointless
  • "Do not weep" he doesn't want them to cry 
  • "These men were born to drill and die"Born to fight and die

  • "Hoarse, booming drums of the regiment"
  • "Little souls who thirst for fight" 
  • "Swift blazing flag of the regiment"

Theme

  • The life lesson we learned from this story is that   
  • war is not kind in fact war is cruel and pain full to the 
  • people that have love ones who have died in war.

Irony

  • For example when he says "war is kind."
  • He really means that war is not kind at all 
  • "These men were born to drill and die."
  • They weren't really born to drill and die 
  • he's just using that to make a point 

Speaker

  • The speaker is trying to get his point a crossed that 
  • war is not kind in fact that war is not good at all that the  
  • war that is going on destroys many peoples life's and they just have 
  • to keep going in order to sirvive
