Clouds
The water cycle starts by water evaporating and sticking to dust in the air to form clouds. Once it is a cloud, the molecules loose energy.

Rain
Then, when the clouds collect too much water, it comes down in rain, snow, sleet, or hail. This is called precipitation.

It eventually ends up in rivers or lakes and sometimes groundwater.
