WHAT IS THE WATER CYCLE

The Water cycle is the movement of water between the atmosphere, land, and oceans.

HOW DOES WATER CHANGE STATE?

  • Liquid-gas:evaporation
  • Liquid-soild:freezing
  • Gas-liquid:precipitation
  • soild-liquid:melting
  • Soild-gas:sublimation Gas-soild:deposition

HOW DOES WATER REACH ATMOSPHERE?

  • Evaporation: water turns liquid to gas.
  • Transpiartion: when plants release water into enviornment.
  • Sublimation: Frozen water turn to gas directly.

WHAT HAPPENS TO WATER IN THE ATMOSPHERE

  • Condensation: the change of state from a gas to a liquid.
  • Condensation occurs if the air that countains water vapor is cooled enough
  • Precipitation: any form of water that falls to the earth from a cloud .
  • 3 Common kinds of precipitation are rain , snow , hail .
  • Precipitation occurs when water droplets collide and stick together to become larger in cloud

HOW DOES WATER MOVE ON LAND AMD IN THE OCEANS?

  • All of water on land that flows from high to low because of gravity is called a "runoff"
  • Water on land seeps into the ground , the process is called "infiltration"
  • When gravity causes glaciers to flow downhill , and flow to the ocean is called ice flow
  • Winds move ocean water in great currents, sometimes it will sink deep into the occean , it's called ocean circulation

WHAT DOES THR WATER TRANSPORT

  • Water transports energy and matter .
  • The movement of energy can create hurricanes.
  • It can also make cold ocean currents .
  • The watter from rivers can tranport large amount of sand, mud, and gravel.
