WHAT IS WATER POLLUTION?

Water pollution is any chemical, physical or biological change in the quality of water that has a harmful effect on any living thing that drinks or uses or lives in it.

HOW IS WATER POLLUTION MEASURED?

Scientists use many different instruments to determine the quality of water, including Secchi disks. These measure water quality.

THE MEASUREMENT OF WATER POLLUTANTS.

Scientists measure pollutants by observing life in the water and using meters and test strips.

EFFECT OF WATER POLLUTION

Water pollution causes life in the water to have a lot of problems and it harms the plants and animals there causing them to get sick and maybe die.

PROBLEMS

Water pollution is also limiting safe drinking water on our planet which could potentially effect humans as well.

INDIVIDUAL HELP

People as an individual can help prevent water pollution by not dumping garbage in places that it could potentially reach water and making sure vehicles are not leaking fluid that could harm the environment.koookkkkkkkonñnñ

COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS

The community can help by having more recycling centers and limiting pollution let off by local businesses.

NATIONAL SOLUTION

Nationally we could change the amount of pollution wallowed to be let out by factories into the air and that could help prevent acid rain and runoff.
