PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Question
Does the amount of sunlight
affect the amount of water
that will evaporate?
MATERIALS
- 2 graduated measuring cups
- I pad
- Paper
- Pencil
- BooksAtlanta
VARIABLES
- Controlled: The starting amount of water in each beaker.
- Independent: The amount of sunlight.
HYPOTHESIS
I predict the beaker in the sun will evaporate the most
and the beaker in the shade will evaporate the least.
RESEARCH
- The sun, clouds, and rain make the water cycle.
- Rain is precipitation that falls from clouds.
- The sun makes water evaporate.
- Evaporation is the process by which from a liquid to a gas or vapor.
PROCEDURES
- Choose your project
- Read your experiment
- Get your materials
- Do your research
- Label two beakers
PROCEDURES CONT.
- Fill each beaker to 100ml
- Put one beaker in the shade
- Put the other beaker in the sun
- Check the beakers each day
- Record and analyze data
DATA
- At first the shade and the sun started at 100ml.
- After day one sun had 94ml and the shade had 99ml.
- Day 2 the sun had 90ml and the shade had 97ml.
Conclusion
The cup in the sun evaporated the most because the sun makes water evaporate more. The heat from the sun is needed to change the water from a liquid to a gas.
