MANAGEMENT

  • Shallow water depths from 6 to 18 inches are most desirable for puddle ducks
  • Maintaining water is very important to waterfowls.
  • Sometimes it is desirable to fence wetland areas.
  • There is a key way to provide quality river bottom habitat for waterfowls

MANAGING UPLAND DEPRESSIONS

  • Upland depressions occur in flat woods or native/improved pastures
  • Can be improved by the construction of embankments.
  • Close the embankments to create a wetland.
