PRESENTATION OUTLINE

WAVE ENERGY

BY JOHN SANDERS

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

  • A generator converts this mechanical energy into useful electricity. The point absorber consists of a series of long unit, floating on the surface of the water following the movements of the wave. It is this movement that is harnessed and converted to electricity in the point absorber.

HOW COULD IT BE USED

  • The energy provided is most often used in desalination plants, power plants and water pumps
  • Some of these are how the energy is currently used

PROS OF WAVE ENERGY

  • Environment friendly
  • Renewable
  • Various ways to harness

EFFECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT

  • Visual pollution
  • It effects the marine ecosystem
  • Takes away the home of animals in the sea

THE TECHNOLOGY

  • The technology is not very big and easy to conceal
