  • He had the greatest number of RBI's and was MVP in 1953
  • Campanella won MVP award in 1951,1953,1955
  • His 142 RBI's in 1953 broke the franchise record of 130
  • Campanella caught two no-hitters in 1956 one on May 12 & another on Sept. 25
  • In 1953 he hit 41 home runs and had a league leading 142 runs batted in

  • He died in 1955

  • First African American to wear the Yankee uniform
  • Professional baseball catcher, left fielder, and coach
  • Played on negro and major league baseball leagues
  • 1929-1980

  • Known as the "King of the Wild Frontier"
  • He was a member of the House of Representatives from Tennessee's 12th District
  • Actor Fess Parker starred in the highly popular TV series Davy Crockett
  • Davy Crockett was killed at the Alamo on March 6, 1836
  • He was born on August 17, 1786
