Chemical Weathering is when rocks or other materials are broken down by changing their composition.

Physical Weathering is when rocks or other materials are broken down by physical changes.

This rock chipping is an example of physical weathering. It is by Club next to the pole connected to the railing.

This cracked sidewalk is another example of physical weathering. It is in front of the 6th grade classroom.

This rusty bench is an example of chemical weathering. There are many of these on campus, but this one was in front of 8th grade.

This rusty sign pole is another example of chemical weathering. It is on the bottom of the parking sign in front of 7th grade.

Did you know that rocks can "rust" too? A lot of materials can oxidize, or rust. This rock is in front of church and is an example of chemical weathering.

These rocks in the prayer garden have been through a lot. They were smoothed by a rushing river and stream and then got chipped by something.

This missing brick tile is an example of physical weathering. It is in the wall at the 6th grade classroom.

This is how to prevent a missing tile. If it gets loose, put plaster around the edges to stabilize it. This was also found in the wall at 6th grade

Chipping paint is an example of physical weathering. This is on a curb by the gym.

Chipped paint on a curb can be easily fixed. Slap a new coat of paint on and BAM! Instant protection!

THE END.
