Wednesday Wars Haiku Deck Colin Zinsmeister

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SLIDE 1

  • One thing that I learned from this year is not to do drugs from mr.brown. He told us that drugs can have very negative effects on your mind and body and this will help me to avoid them in life.

  • I think that Hollings worst month was September. Holling did not look forward to the year ahead of him. Holling especially didn't look forward to having mrs.baker as a teacher because he thought she would torture him all year especially on Wednesdays after school when he had to stay with her.

SLIDE 3

  • I believe that June was hollings best month because he got to go on a field trip camping with his friends. Also Holling got to see Danny preform his bar mitzvah and become a man and celebrate afterwards. Also Holling does the most gutsiest thing in that chapter. After Holling then gets to see mrs.baker reunite with lieutenant Baker and the year ends with a happy ending.

SLIDE FOUR

  • I think the war with Holling himself in May changed him. Holling realizes that his parents aren't the best and he doesn't want to be like them. Holling admits this because his parents didn't even care that heather was stuck in Minneapolis with no money left to get back home. Holling also doesn't want to end up like his dad who only thinks about work and himself and nothing else.

SLIDE 5

  • I would give hollings year a b. I think this grade would go well with his year because he had some ups and some down. Some ups are that over time he developed a special relationship with mrs.baker and got to do many fun things with her and his friends like camping. A down is that he had to here about all the killing going on in the Vietnam war. He also had to cope with his mom and dads bad relationship.

SLIDE 6

  • I think that in June Holling did the most gutsiest thing. Holling confronted his dad saying that being an architect isn't important to him and that his dad being an architect and receiving money and fame from it is all there is to life.

  • Mrs.scholes helped me to improve in pre-algebra over the year. I stayed after for help and she helped me to understand the concept better. At the begging of the year I would always give up on pre-algebra but mrs.scholes helped me to improve and I then tried the hardest I could and did not give up.
