What can I do to help my students master their government unit by using technology?

What are other teachers doing?

• Mr. Nissen gives all the students their work and 2 weeks to complete it.
• Students use the interent to research for some of their assignments
• Students have freedom, they complete their assignments at their own pace

What are other teachers doing?

• Mrs. Heizer allows studnets to research using the computers.
• Students research governments and members of the Constitutional Convention
• Students present their findings

How are other teachers using technology

• They use the internet for research
• They use it as a study tool
• They use it for writing and editing

How is Creativity Encouraged?

• Students have freedom to research what they want?
• They can look deeper into areas of interest
• Students have multiple options for their presentations

Benefits

• Students are quiet and motivated to use the computers
• Students have unlimited information at their fingertips
• Students can be creative in their presentations

Weakness

• Students are still limited on how they use technology (Research mainly
• Students typically give the same type of presenation
• Students do not show their creativity

• I am going to allow students to research
• I will show students different presentation methods
• I will allow students to choose what they want to research

• Students have more choice in research
• Students can choose a presentation tool and expand on it anyway they want
• Students are allowed to choose which allows them to explore what they want
