History

  • Spain is known for its long history, and unique culture.
  • Spain is located in southwest Europe
  • Spain's capital and largest city is Madrid
  • Latitude of 40.4169 degrees North 
  • Longitude of 3.7036 degrees west

Madrid had been the capital of Spain since the 17th century. Its the highest capital city in Europe. The name Madrid comes from the Arabic "magerit" it means place of many streams. Madrid is the most visited city in Spain, it also is the third most populated city in Europe.

Economic Losses

Spain was involved in world war 1 in April 1998, Spain experienced a dangerous toxic spill, it flowed into the Guadalquivir River, that flowed into the Atlantic Ocean. People thought that it endangered man birds and other animals. The toxic mud covered fields, farms and orchards which caused the farmers to suffer enormous economic losses.
