Languages!
They spoke Wyandot, Wyandotte, Wendat, or Huron.
They are all Iroquoian languages.
Wyandot is the modern form for Wendat.

Religion/Spiritual Beliefs
A dying person would hold a farewell feast when death was imminentnt.
A man would hold a singing feast if he wanted to gain status.

Political Organization
The different tribes are:
1. The Bear Tribe (Attigawantan)
2. The Cord Tribe
(Attigneenongnahac)
3. The Rock Tribe
(Arendarhonon)
4. The Deer Tribe
(Tahontaenrat)

FOOD

  • Fish
  • Nuts
  • Fruit and veggies
  • Deer meat
  • Food they grew
  • Maple syrup
  • Berries

Clothes
The clothes they wore were made from deer and beaver hides. Men wore loincloths and moccasins. In winter they added leggings, sleeves, and a cloak made of fur. Woman wore the same only they wore a skirt instead of a loincloth. They wore body paint and beads. They used porcupine quills and feathers for decoration.

Roles of men
They clear new fields.
They hunt, fish, and store the meat. They make stone and wooden utensils and tools. They make canoes, pipes, snowshoes, and sleds. They make peace negations with the outside world.

Roles of the women and children
The roles of women and children were the same. The roles are cooking,sewing,tanning leather,child care,cleaning,gathering food,making baskets and pots,weaving mats and fishing nets,farming, and caring for families and guests.

Travel/ transportation
They travel by canoes,pips,snow shoes and sleds.

Location
They lived in Georgian Bay all the way to Lake Simco.

Housing
They lived in long houses
