You where appointed only if you were willing, you would be a relitive of Sheriffs mostly .

If a part of the posse you would have to be in harms way.

You would be sober and be ready to fire a gun.

Your pay would be a portion of the reward

You would need to follow the restrictions of the law. ( Other then the citizens arrest.)

You would be with the sheriff on posse hunts
