If we didn't have day and night it would make our lives a lot harder, have you noticed that you always wake up when the sun rises and that it's always easier to sleep when the moon is in the night sky.

We have day and night because of the constant turning of the earth. We may think that the sun spins around because we see it rise in the east and set in the west but that's just the earth spinning round.

Earth rotates on its axis at 1670km per hour, it takes 24 hours (1 whole day) for the earth spin around once on its axis.
It takes 365 days for earth to do one full revolution also known as one full year, in order for this to happen, the earth has to spin around the sun once in order for it to do a full revolution.

While one side of the earth is in day time, the other is at night because of the 12 hour difference e.g. When NZ is experiencing daytime, England is in night time, the main reason for this is at night, you aren't facing the sun, you're facing the moon.

THE END

And so because of night and day, we have nice and healthy lives.
