Slide Notes

Good evening, tonight I want to take this opportunity to share with you what I have learned about the necessary skills employers are seeking when interviewing for positions in their place of business. As an administrator, I have the opportunity to interact with students and faculty on a daily basis. I get a chance to communicate with them and truly listen to their issues.
When I signed up to take this class I wanted to meet with professionals from all walks of life to listen to their wisdom and especially to hear what they look for when interviewing potential candidates for a job in their field.
Upon completion of this course i can honestly say that what I thought I was going to learn severely paled in comparison to the information I gained.
As a result I took some time to create a presentation about the top ten skills that employers really look for in potential job hires.

Almost every Employer we had the pleasure of meeting with shared that they need people who possess strong Communication skills. They do not want people who do not understand how to listen when spoken to and how to talk appropriately when needed.

Just like Steve Jobs employers are looking for people to work for them that show initiative in all they set out to do. The employers all said that they do not want people that have to be told what to do all of the time. Rather they want people to see potential problems and already have a solution before they speak to a superior.

Motivation

The employers shared that they desire candidates who are self motivated and do not required constant prodding, if you will. They look for potential employees who want to work for you and show a strong desire to do so.

This kind of goes without saying, if you are not passionate about what you are doing in life then you need to find a new career.
