The people
This helps studies when people are excavating in Pompeii
You could see the expressions on the people's faces.
So you could see that they struggled.
Pompeii and the local people were famous of the city under ashes
This place was so intact, archaeologists found lots of information.

Bodies
The eruption killed around 2,000 people.
They were affected by Nuee Ardente: Pyroclastic flow
The bodies were saved in time by a thin layer of veneer plaster
This gave them life form.
You could even see the wrinkles on their clothes!

Would the people be able to predict the eruption? if yes, How?
Every once in a while there were small tremors.
The temperature was always higher by the volcano than the city.
you could smell the sulphur around the volcano
No because they thought the gods wanted them to die.

19.
The effect
The volcano expelled sulphuric gases that formed from pyroclastic flow
People breathed in the gases, got poisoned and suffocated to death.
Volcanic ash showered the people and covered them, preserving them.
This affected many people from other cities.
