Reader's Theater is a Strategy That:

• Increases Fluency
• Builds Prosody (Intonation,inflection, pauses, etc)
• Improves Comprehension

Students practice and then
PERFORM
a text!

Reader's Theater Does NOT focus on

• Props
• Staging
• Lighting
• Costumes
• or anything fancy

Reader's Theater DOES

• Focus on enthusiasm and expression
• Help students with pronunciation and vocabulary
• Enhance reading, listening, and speaking skills
• Build community
• Promote JOY and confidence in reading!
