WHAT IS YOUR 4-H STORY?

How that story can make an impact...
Each of us has a 4-H story. This story refers to and draws from the experiences we have had as a 4-H member and what life skills we have learned from them. This story doesn't only have an impact on us, but on others as well.

Somewhere during your childhood you made a choice to be a 4-H member.

somewhere during your childhood you made a conscious choice to join 4-H and become a 4-H member.

For your club, community, country and world.

But most of all for yourself.
you agreed to live and learn by the 4-H pledge. To pledge your head to clearer thinking your heart to greater loyalty, your hands to larger service and your health to better living for your club, your community, your country and your world. But most of all for yourself.

Many 4-H alumni have said, "4-H has made me who I am today."

Why is it important to share how 4-H has made you who you are?

why is it important to go one step further and share HOW 4-H has made you who you are?

MENTOR & IINSPIRE

the first reason is to inspire others. Younger members look up to you and can learn from what you have done. But only if they are able to hear your story.

PROMOTE

the second reason is to promote the great program 4-H is. Sharing the opportunities 4-H has provided you will inspire further support of the program. Being a spokesperson for 4-H will only help to strengthen 4-H for future generations.

REFLECT & GROW

the final reason is for your own self reflection and growth. as you sit down to write your college essay or scholarship application you will no doubt draw from your 4-H experiences. By writing your 4-H story and reflecting on the actions you have taken and skills you have gained you will be able to show your value to colleges and employers.

document and share

Start today and document your 4-H story to share with the world.
