Wheat started in Idaho in the early 1900's.
In 2012 we planted 780000 acres of wheat, in 2013 we only planted 730000 acres but in 2014 we planted 480000.

Wheat production creates jobs and income. Not only in production process, but transportation, storage, Milling, and Input supply industries. The value of wheat production is about $500 millions and contributes over 8,500 jobs

WHY IT DOES GOOD

  • It makes food (breads, cake, poptarts ect.)
  • That food is sold to other companies.
  • Then they get money for selling that product.
  • The US uses over 3 million of idahos wheat each day.

WHEAT IS SOLD TO THE IDAHO WHEAT COMMISSION.

  • Exported to different countries.
  • Exported to 3 other states.
  • The pacific rim, the Middle East, and Latin America.
  • California, Utah, Colorado

They made tractors to pull plows.
