Where a red barn stands
If you like happy, fictional stories, this story you should choose. I wrote and thought of the story on my own, but I always wanted to show others the story of it. NOTE: THIS PART TELLS A BIT OF THE STORY: It's about a girl named Penny who loves adventures, and she finds one. She finds a big barn right by her new school, and inside, there's children living in the barn. When it's gonna be closed down for a stranger's house, Penny has to find a way to not only to keep the barn, but to also keep her friends from losing their home. Will she have to tell her secret to everyone about her friends living in the barn, or can she keep the secret from everyone? Find out in this novel!
Once upon a time...
A barn not so far away, and a house not too far from the barn, lived a girl named Penny. She loved adventures. One day she got one on this one day... Only she will tell you her point of view. Now...
"Penny, get ready for your first day of school!" Mom shouts loudly, like usual for waking me up early. I groaned. I hated being waked up early. But for the first day of school, I knew I had to get used to it. Today, it was a school day. Last week, I moved to a new neighborhood. Because I moved to a new place, I knew that meant I was going to a new school too. But I was worried. I never really was good at making new friends. But Mom told me "making a friend takes time". But when I was done with my old school, which was 3 years I stayed in there, I never made a single friend there. I would probably make, again, no friends at all. I sighed. "OK Mom. I'll get ready!" I said, yelling too. This was gonna be a long day for me, I thought.
I then got dressed, brushed my teeth and ate breakfast. Then, my Mom drove me to school. I saw the school. It was a pale green school. The title said Woof Wonder School. Mom then spoke. "I like the name of this school. It's pretty... unique." I groaned. "Well, I think it's weird." Mom stared at me for a while, then spoke again. "Come on sweetie. It's not gonna be bad." I sighed. I knew nobody was gonna be my friend. "Your right." I lied. "I am sure it's not gonna be so bad." But I really knew it was not gonna be okay. Then, Mom parked in between the yellow lines of the little parking lot. Then, she blew a kiss. I didn't though. Then, I went inside the doors of the school.
It looked colorful. I sighed. I went to my locker. Then, I opened it. It was stinky. It smelled like rotten milk and cheese! Oh, the horror it was! Then, two kids walked up to me. They welcomed me. I was confused. Nobody ever welcomed me except my family. One was a boy with a green shirt. The other kid was a girl with a blue dress. "Hi there, I'm Bella and this is my friend Max. We're best friends." Bella said in a very fast voice. Then, Max spoke. "It's true, we are best friends. Sorry if she speaks to fast for you. You might get used to that at the cafeteria." I gasped. "Your gonna invite me to your table at lunch!?" I said slowly. Max and Bella both nodded. "Me and Max love making best friends. Only nobody wants to be friends with us." Bella said fast again, but sadly. "We even have the whole lunch table to us!"
I gasped. "Wow, impressive. I was expecting nobody was gonna be my friend in school. Only because every hates me, except of course my family." I said depressed. "We don't hate you." Max said softly. I grinned. They smiled. "Hey, what's your name?" Bella says quickly. "I'm Penny." They smiled. "Nice name." I smiled pleasantly. I couldn't believe it. I actually made two friends! I thought. I feel so great. I guess my Mom was right. Then, in school it was recess time. I ran outside to the sunshine. Then, when I was on the swings, I noticed something. I saw a barn. It was BIG! It looked abandoned though. When nobody was looking, I ran to the barn. The barn door was locked. I looked around the barn. Then, I heard voices. I saw a little door. I ducked inside.
It was a little dark, but I still saw some sunshine coming through the windows. Then I heard a voice. "Who goes there?" I was a little startled by the sound. The voice sounded like a girl. "Who goes there?" The voice said again. I tried to exit to the little door. Suddenly though I bumped a little object. I heard footsteps coming toward me. Then, a little girl appeared. She had a blue dress with brown cowgirl boots. "Who are you?" The girl said firmly. "I'm P-Penny." I said startled. What was I doing? I could of made the run for it. I could of, but I didn't. I just stood there. Then the girl spoke. "Hi! My name is Nora! Nice to meet you. Fun fact about me, I'm very loyal and I love painting pictures!" She lended out her hand to greet me. I was silent. "Don't be afraid. I won't harm you. Please, I'll show you our barn, promisely." First, I was still concerned, but I nodded.
"Yay!" Nora said leting out a cheer. "We love visitors. Or at least almost all of us." She said a little sadly. "Me and my friends in our barn have a leader named Julia. She loves to play board games. She is the only one that doesn't like people entering in here. She gets kinda worried when a person from the Out comes to our barn. Can you keep this place a secret?" She said a little firmly. I nodded. She clapped with both of her little hands. "Great! I appreciate it." Then, she waved her hand to me. I followed her. Me and Nora both went into a room. It was amazing. It was a room full of colorful beds, drawing's and mirrors. I counted all the beds, drawing's and mirrors. There were 8 beds, drawing's and mirrors. "Wow." I said loudly. So loudly that 6 children walked up to me. Then, another one came. It was a girl with one ponytail, and a violet dress with roses
on it. "Is that your leader, Julia?" I ask quietly. She nodded. I started to sweat a little. "Who is that?" Julia said firmly. My voice was silent. I tried to speak, but I couldn't. I wanted to explore this place, maybe to even make a friend here, and if I said the wrong thing, I might make the mistake of leaving. Then, Nora stepped forward to Julia. "This is my friend. Her name is Penny. She promised to me that she would keep this place a secret." Then, I stepped forward. "Is this true?" Julia said firmly. "Yes, it's true to the moon." I said modestly. I really hoped I could stay. "Well, I guess you can stay. For now, but if you live in a separate home, then you can't stay. You can visit anytime you like though. My name is Julia by the way." I nodded. "Nice to meet you." I knew her before she told me her name, but I didn't mind. She didn't seem to mind either.
Then, I heard a call from the "Out". It was a teacher's voice. "Sorry, gotta go!" I said quickly. The children all waved to me. I waved back at them. Now this was an adventure. I thought in my head. I headed out the little door. The teacher was looking everywhere. Good. I thought again. She didn't see that I went in the barn. I quickly pretended to lie down on the tall grass. Then, I looked up at her. The teacher saw me. "There you are! You were supposed to be inside from recess 30 minutes ago!" I was silent. Was it really that long?! I thought. Wow. I guess I was pretty distracted with the barn. I looked like I was in for trouble. Yep, I was. I sat in a chair, waiting to enter the room. The principal looked down at me, silent. "You may not know me. My name is Principal Harsh. Come inside my office room." I followed her inside. I was kinda dark. I knew I was in for it.
I entered into a room they called "detention". "Miss Penny. I am afraid I am gonna have to call your Mom. I am sorry for this." She said sharply. I gasped. This has never happened to me ever. What would happen? How much punishment would I receive? She pressed on the tiny numbers of the phone. I waited and waited. Principal Harsh told me that Mom wanted to hear from me. I took the phone. "Honey, what happened?" She said slowly. "I-I saw something interesting." I stammered. This was so embarrassing! "What did you see that was interesting, dear?" I gasped. I didn't wanna lie, but I did it anyway. "I couldn't really make it out. Well, gotta go, bye Mom, love ya!" I said feeling guilty.

What has happening to me? I kept on lying to my own Mom. I knew that wasn't smart, but I didn't really have a choice if I wanted to keep the barn a secret. And to my school friends too. Would I have to lie to them too if they got suspicious to me too? I was worried. I knew that I had to for the secret to remain hidden. Then, the school bell rang. It was time to go home. "Well, bye Principal Harsh! It was nice knowing ya!" I said, quickly leaving and waving goodbye. While I was leaving her office room, all I heard was a hmmmm. I guess Principal Harsh said that, only quietly. Mom picked me up again. She didn't ask about the "interesting thing that made me late". Boy was I glad for that. I couldn't wait to enter the barn again tomorrow.
The next day, I decided to get up really early in time to not be late but to still visit the barn. If the children were sleeping, I would make an excuse to go to the bathroom at my last learning session. That trick always worked. It took some time but Mom finally nodded yes to take me. Then, she drove off to W W School (which I am calling it now). I hopped out of the car. "Now please don't get into trouble again, sweetie." She said gently. "I'll do my best." I say, winking. She blew a kiss at me. She then drove off. I cheered happily. Then, I run inside the big barn. Inside the bedroom's, I was surprised that all of the children were up. "Hey there, Penny!" Nora said walking up to me. "Today, since your here, I wanted to show you all of the children and their names. You already know me and Julia, so today I'm gonna show you the six other children!" She said cheerfully.
"How many children are there other than me and still counting you and Julia?" I ask. "There are... 1, 2, 3, 4," Nora said counting. "There are 6 children to tell you today, since yesterday you already found out two." I grinned happily. Just then, I heard the school bell ring. I frowned, disapointed. "We can do this another time, recess maybe?" Nora asks. I nod. "I'll promise to make an excuse about it!" I said cheerfully. "It's a deal!" Nora says, cheering too. Then, I ran out to the barn again. Nobody saw me go out of it. "Whew!" I said quietly as I went inside W W School. That was a close one. Then, I went inside to learn in the school I loved a lot. This might be the one kind of school (and barn) I would never forget.
I once again enter W W school. I was excited to enter the barn again. It was a fun secret to keep. The only thing was: how could I keep it away from my school friends? Then, it was finally recess time. I quietly tip toed to the barn. Then, Max and Bella appeared! I was stunned. What was I supposed to do? These were my first friends I ever made at an school. If I didn't tell them the truth, oh brother. I couldn't lose any friends. "Hey, Penny, what are you doing, tell us, tell us, tell us!" Bella said excitedly. I had to tell the truth. I took a deep breath, and spoke the truth. "Well you see, um..." I said nervously. I took another deep breath. "Can you promise to keep this a secret?" I said anxiously. Bella and Max both nodded. I took one final breath.
"I have been sneaking in and out of this big barn." I pointed at the barn I'd been telling them. They both gasped. I worried what they thought of this. Then, Bella spoke again. "That. Is. Awesome!" She says excitedly. I sighed calmly. "Hey Penny, maybe you could bring us inside?" Max says gentley. I hoped that this wouldn't happen. I just hoped and hoped, but it didn't work. "I hope you understand this but, I am not gonna show you the barn, Sorry. Besides, it's just a really old and boring barn with nothing cool in it." I lied. I knew I had to stop lying eventually. Soon, but this might still continue for a while.
Max and Bella both glared at each other, then walked away. I sighed. That was a close one. Then, I went back to the barn quietly again. Nobody saw me. I entered through the little door, and walked back inside the colorful bedroom's. "Penny, your back!" Nora said suddenly as I entered the room. "Yep, I'm back." I said smiling. "So, you ready to hear the other kid's names?" Nora asks. I nod. "Great. I can't wait. Yo-do-lay-hee-hoo!" Then, all the other kids suddenly walk up. I guessed that that was Nora's way to call all the kids. Even Julia walked up. Then, they all formed a line as Nora started telling me they're all their names.
"This is Peter. He loves kicking soccer balls." Then, he gave me a high five. It hurted quite a bit. I guessed that he works out a lot. "This is Victor. He's a great dancer." Then, he did a move called "The Worm". He WAS good. "This is Simon. He is a math genious. Every math problem someone has, he can easily solve it. I would always give him an A+ for that." Then, he did a complicated-looking math problem. He said it was simple, but to me, it looked IMPOSSIBLE to complete.
"This is Jack. he loves karate. He's the best one I have ever seen." Then, Nora held a piece of wood in her hands, and then Jack chopped the woods in half with his bare hands. I was impressed. "This is Zoey. She loves to sing. She is really, REALLY good at it. She doesn't do this sometimes, but she once sung so loud and high, she broke a cup made of glass!" Then, she did that. It was true. She could, and DID break a cup of glass! I admitted that even I couldn't do that, no matter how high pitch I sang. "This is Sydney. I think that she is the master of hiding, especally when playing Hide and Seek! Blink once, and she's gone!"
Then, when I blinked once, she DID disappear! I awed in amazement. (After that, she did come out though). "So yeah, that's everyone." Nora said as I smiled. Then, I decided to introduce myself to the other children as well. "Hello, I'm Penny. I really like to hula hoop. It's my talent." I did kinda wish that I had a hula hoop though. Then, Nora threw a hula hoop to me! It was like she could read my mind! Then, I hula hooped away. I jumped, hula hooped with only one leg up and hula hooped on the ground. "Ooh, ahh!" Everyone said in astonishment. I smiled proudly. Then, I heard the bell ring. "Gotta go!" Then, Nora turned to me. "Penny, wait! Me and everyone here drew a picture for you. For not only keeping this barn a secret, but for being my friend."
Then, Nora handed me a drawing that I guess she drew. It was a picture of everyone together at the front of the barn. Even I was in it. Everyone signed there name on the back of the picture. I almost felt like crying joyfully. "I will never forget any one of you, or this beautiful picture you all made for me!" Then, we all did a big group hug. I felt like almost belonging here. Then, I heard the bell once more, ring again. I grabbed my picture my friends gave me and hurried out of the door. I washed out my happy tears and went inside W W school. Tomorrow was Friday. I couldn't wait to see my "barn" friends again tomorrow. It was very exciting.
"Morning, honey!" Mom said waking me up. "Morning, Mom!" I said cheerfully as I ate my breakfast. "Why are you super excited? Made friends or more of them?" Mom said as I nodded happily. That wasn't completely a lie, because I really did make more friends. Or at least I now knew the other kids name's. "Well, I am glad for you. Your already dressed too. I'm proud of you, honey." I smiled. "Thanks, Mom." Then, me and my Mom drove off. We went to school early again, only because I asked. Then, I jumped out of the car as Mom drove away. I ran to the barn. Suddenly when I was about to enter through the door, I saw a sign in front of the door. It said, BARN SOLD FOR CONSTRUCTING INTO A HOUSE.
I gasped. They were making the barn into a house!? I couldn't believe it. This was the kid's home! I looked on the sign again. The sign said the construction work would happen at December 20th at the end of the sunset. I remembered looking at the calendar this morning. Today was December 15th! I gasped. This couldn't be happening. But I knew it was true. I just wished it wasn't true. It also said the stranger's phone number. Then, I tried entering through the door. It was locked. Oh no! Was it too late? Then, a little eye peeked through the door. I jumped. That was creepy. Then, the door opened all the way. It was Nora! But she looked a little sad. "Penny! You can come in. We need to explain a lot to you."
I entered inside. Everyone looked sad. "Sorry about the door being locked. There all locked. We did that because we didn't want the construction people coming in on us. We also borded up all the windows too. Just in case they might see or hear us." Nora said softly and sadly. "We love this barn. It's our home. If they destroy this place, we won't have a home to be in, and besides, we love this barn!" I nodded firmly. "I do too." I said, agreeing. "The only way to keep the place is to earn 1000 dollars. Altogether we have 200 dollars, but it's still not enough money." Nora says, frowning. I gasped. Then, a thought came into my head. I bet I could help save the barn too! But that meant that I would need to speak up to tell the school that.
No, I thought. I had stage fright. That might also mean that I would have to tell everyone my secret about the whole barn thing. But I also thought of the picture the kid's all gave to me. "I have an idea!" I blurted out. I groaned. Looks my plan was gonna be told. "What is it?" Julia said, wondering. I told them my plan, even the stage fright part. They were generously all giving me ideas about what to do. I heard one about recording it on my phone and sending it for everyone to hear. But my Mom and I couldn't afford to have any devices. Another one was that to just say it out loud, to face my fear. I didn't wanna take the chances. The one I decided to do was to do a charity, to put up posters about the barn.
Not to tell any part of the barn, but to tell them I would give them 2 cookies for an reward. My Mom knows how to do math really well and to bake delicious cookies. I just hope that she will agree to do it for me. Then, school was over until Monday. As Mom was driving me, I asked her if she could bake cookies for the school. "Sure, I could make you cookies for the school. Since your in middle school, there are 5 classes you go to, 20 kid's each, you'd need 200 cookies, since you would give them 2 cookies." Mom said thoughtfully. "Can you make 200 cookies for me?" I asked, a little concerned. I hoped Mom would say yes. I hoped that she would do this for me. The kid's in the barn all depended on me.
"Well, OK. I'll do it." I cheered, happy. "Thank you Mom so much. This means a lot to me." I gave her a hug, as she gave me one back. Then, I ran to my room. I was great at drawing too, just like Nora does. I started making posters for the charity. I drew a picture of a glass container holding a dollar bill, but it was a 800 dollar bill. Then, I put on an equal sign with a picture of 2 cookies on it. I also wrote down my plan, if they didn't understand it. Then, I colored it in with my colored pencils. I clapped my hands together. "Done!" I said to myself. Now all I needed to do was to copy it on the printer we had. (That was the only thing we actually afforded for technology). I decided to print 29 more. When they were all done printing, I put them on my desk.
When it was Sunday, Mom was done baking and making the cookies. I was glad of that, only because then it wouldn't be late on Monday. Now it was Monday. I got up at like, the earliest time of my life. (In school time). I got up at 6:30 AM, which the regular time to get up was 7:30 AM, to leave at 8:00 AM. I even saw Mom do the same, which kinda surprised me. Then, Mom grabbed the cookies and we drove off. Then, when we both this time entered school, I remembered, that I forgot my posters at home! I looked at my Mom, worried. I couldn't have, I just couldn't have! Mom told me she couldn't go home and go back to school to get back the posters. She told me that the principal made it a school law. I thought she was teasing, but she looked and was serious about it. I knew and realized that I had to go on without the posters.
I told the others about how I accidentally forgot to bring the posters. The only option that was left was me having to speak up to the school. I gulped loudly. I couldn't do this! "At least it's only middle school." Nora said gently to me. "I know that's true, but still, 100 kid's to speak to? That's a lot." I sighed. Then, I heard the morning bell in the Out. "I'll try, I guess." I said still concerned. The others cheered me on. I was still worried, but when they cheered, I felt more braver each step forward I took. Then, it was lunch time. I gulped and got on the center of the stage. I saw a microphone and spoke. "Can I get your attention please." I said, nervously. Everyone turned to me. Even the teacher's and the lunch lady's. I swallowed again. Then, I thought of the picture my friends gave me, and then of them. I felt brave when I thought of that.
"There is a secret I have been keeping to all of you. Except my friends Bella and Max, who were super kind to me. I have been going inside a barn from time to time, at recess time and before school time. It is closing down, which can't happen because, well, there are kids who live in that barn. They love it so much, and a stranger wants that barn for a house to live in. So if he or she takes it, my friends won't have a home to live in. So I was thinking of putting up posters for a charity, but I forgot them. So now I am speaking this to all of you. I have stage fright, but I couldn't let my barn friends down. I need 600 dollars to save the barn. Please, help me. If it gets raised from all of you, then you can have 2 cookies, baked from my Mom. The money will be put in my desk where a glass container will be. Please, and thanks."
After that, everyone was quiet. As I got off the stage, I frowned sadly. At this rate, with only two more days to earn the money, I didn't wanna say it, but it looked like it was impossible. Then, I heard two people clap. It was Bella and Max! They were clapping for me! Then, I heard more people clap. Soon, everyone was clapping. I thought now that there really was a chance to save the barn! Then, I saw Principal Harsh. She did not clap at all. I felt kinda funny about the principal. She didn't seem very proud of me at ALL. Then, the day was over. "If I don't make enough money tomorrow at sunset, I won't be able to save the barn!" I said to myself. I knew I couldn't give up though. Even if I felt worried. "For my friends." I said to myself again.
Then, Mom dropped me off to school. I didn't even bother going into the barn. I just did feel pretty hopeless. Then, I slowly looked into my desk. I saw money in the desk, but was it enough? I counted the change at the end of the school day. It had 750 dollars, but it wasn't enough! I cried sadly. Then, an idea came into my head. "My collage money!" I said, joyfully to myself. "I could use my money. Why didn't I think of this before?" I said to myself again. I looked into my piggy bank. It had 50 dollars! It was just enough! I screamed joyfully. I did it! Since Nora gave me her 200 dollars, I could now call the stranger on the phone. I was worried though. It didn't say who the stranger was, so I had to prepare myself. I dialed the numbers on our home phone. I waited for the answer.
"Who is this?" The voice said. I was startled. It sounded like Principal Harsh's voice! "Well!?" The voice said again, still sounding like Principal Harsh. I spoke into the phone. "I have the 1000 dollars for the barn to stay. I hope it's enough." The phone was silent. Then, the voice spoke again. "Who is this?" Uh oh! I didn't wanna lie, but I decided to lie one more time. "This is the Police Force. I said in my deepest voice ever. "I heard that a barn was available. I'd like the barn please. I have all the money I need. Now, who is this?" I said firmly. The voice sounded startled. "Oh my, I didn't know this was the Police Force! I mean, I am Principal Harsh. Leader of Woof Wonder School. You may have the money for the barn." I didn't try to cheer, and I didn't, which was good. All I said was... "All right then, good. The money will be placed on your front door steps." I said firmly.
"Are you sure you know where my house is?" Principal Harsh said. "Yes." I said, still with a deep voice. "Okay then, good. Bye." She said, kindly. I looked down still. I actually don't know where her house is! The only thought I had was to put it on her desk at school. I now, cheered happily. I did it! I couldn't wait to see the happy faces on the barn kids. Then, it was time. I hopped into the car. I remembered to bring the glass container. I hoped out of the car as I ran to the barn. Then, before I went into the barn, I saw the sign. It said, BARN SOLD BY THE POLICE FORCE. I hoped that didn't ruin anything. Then, I ran inside the barn. I told them the news. They all cheered. Then, I quickly went into Principal Harsh's office. She wasn't inside. Then, I quickly put the money on her desk and went out of the room before she would notice me.
Principal Harsh didn't notice me, which was good, but then, I heard sirens coming toward the school. I quickly ran outside. I had a bad feeling. The Police Force saw me, the REAL Police Force. I also saw a giant ball boulder. "Stop in the name of the Police Force!" I heard the officers say. I heard another one say something too. It was a lady. "I am Officer Kenny. I heard the Police Force bought this even though the Police Force did not buy this barn at all. So who did this!?" She said strictly. I stepped up, feeling guilty. I was gonna tell the truth, but I ran inside the barn. I almost got caught by Kenny. "Come back here, kid!" She said yelling at me, but I did not stop at ALL. I just kept on running to the barn. I quickly entered inside. "Guy's, we need to get out of here!" I say crying loudly.
"They have a giant boulder in front of the barn! If we don't get out, we'll be crushed into bits!" I said loudly. Then, I saw the Police Force rush into the barn. We all hid behind some random barrels. "Please you guys." I said sadly but quietly. "Please come with me. I have a plan." I said quietly still. Then, Nora spoke. "Well, OK. We'll follow you. Yeah! We'll do it!" She said loudly. Then, the Police Force saw us. We all ran to the door as fast as we could. "Stop now, kid's!" Kenny said, shouting. I almost felt like crying, but I stayed calm. "There! To that bus! It has no people in it, but it has keys!" I said quickly as we ran to the bus. We were all inside. "OK. Now what?" Nora said quickly. I really had no plan to be honest. "Um..." I said confused. I had no idea but to drive the bus. "This was crazy!" I thought to myself, but I did it anyway.
"Ahhhhh!" We all said screaming. Then, I drove away crazily. The Police Force was still on our tail. Suddenly, the bus crashed into a big rock. I tried to drive again, but the bus didn't go. I looked at the fuel tank. It was empty. No wonder why it wasn't going. Before I decided to go down and tell the truth, I spoke to the barn kid's. "Guy's, I know that your scared to come with me, but when I call your name, come down. Not all of you when I say someone, just that one person. Can you promise this guy's?" I said closing my eyes. "We promise, Penny." Nora said softly at me. I nodded the barn kid's did as well. They did the same. Even Julia nodded too. I slowly stepped down the stairs. Kenny looked at me angrily.
"Not only for foolishly saying that the Police Force bought the barn, but you will also be in Judy for driving a bus at such a young age." I gasped. "Kenny, please! I can't go to Judy. I just... Can't." I said, frowning. Then, a group of about 6 strangers all walked up to probably see what was going on. I frowned again. "Kenny, there is also something about this barn that you can not take it apart of." Kenny scoffed. "Oh yeah, and what's that?" She said, sheepishly. "Peter." Peter showed up, looking fierce. Kenny gasped. "This is Peter. He is a great soccer kicker. Now, this is Victor. He is a greater dancer, trust me." Victor of course came down as well. He did again, The Worm.
"This is Simon. He's a math genius, I must say." He came down as I gave him a hard math problem and he, once again, solved it. Kenny gasped again. "Incredible." She actually said. That kinda surprised me when she said that. Then, I went back to calling out everyone. "This is Jack. He loves doing karate. I think he's the best. At least he's the best I've ever seen." Then, as he came down, I saw a good piece of wood on the ground. I held it out for him as he chopped it in half. "Oooooh!" Everyone went in awe as they saw the chopped wood. "Now this is Zoey. She is a great singer. Cover your ears if you don't want to hear her really high pitched hearing, which I am gonna show you holding this piece of glass." (Which I found on the ground).
Then, when she heard me say that as she stepped down from the stairs, she sung again so loud that, of course, the glass broke. I saw half of the crowd covering theirs ears. Even Kenny did. I smiled, kinda proud of that. "This is Sydney. She is the master of Hide and Seek, which I bet you will agree too. Now, Blink once!" I said as I saw everyone blink once. "She's gone!" Kenny says as Sydney disappears. I snapped my fingers and said... "Sydney!" And just in a second, she came as quick as a snake trapping it's prey in it's mouth. Kenny gasped. Everyone did the same. "This is Julia. She is great at playing board games. Julia, don't ask how I knew that, I'll tell you later." Julia stepped out, giving out a silent wave. Everyone waved back, smiling.
"Lastly, this is Nora. She is the nicest, smartest and most greatest barn kid I have ever had as a friend. She is not only a great artist, but she also made this beautiful picture for me, and everyone signed their names on it, which I am very grateful for." Then, Nora came running down the bus stairs. She happily hugged me as every other barn kid did the same. I had to let my tears out. "So yeah. These are my friends. The most trusted friends I could ever trust." I said, crying joyfully. Then, after that whole message I gave out, everyone in the crowd clapped. Even Kenny clapped. I smiled, feeling proud of myself. Then, I saw Kenny frown. "I am sorry for this, but I still have to bring you to Judy, the law says." Kenny says strictly. I frowned sadly.
Kenny looked at me, grinning. "But if you can keep this a secret, I suppose I could let you keep your friends in the barn and keep you out of Judy, I guess..." Then, I rose up. "Really Kenny!? You'd do that for me? Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!" I said cheering. I gave her a hug. She smiled. She gave me a hug back. Then, the whole crowd smiled. Then, a distant voice called out. "PENNY!" The voice screamed. Uh oh. I thought. Principal Harsh!
So, yeah. That was the story of Penny saving herself from going to Judy annnnnnd from the barn being closed annnnnnd saving her friend's barn home. Big day for her, huh!? I Okay, okay. I'll stop talking and tell you the ending...
Just joking! That was the ending! So, yeah. And FYI, you do NOT wanna see Principal Harsh angry. That is why that part was cut off. Well, gotta go bake a pie for my sick grandma in bed! Awwww, I see you have a sad face with the ending cut off. Still not showing you that part, but you can have a piece of pie if you want. I'll get you it. Be back, and see ya!
THE END

I've always loved making stories usually about my childhood, but usually in a dream. This story was in a dream. I was at some sort of orphanage. Many beds were lined up. I could look on my right or left through a small window and see someone. I also had a safe I could put my belongings in. I decided to play outside, then saw a chick walking along the sidewalk, along with a white mother duck. I'd say, "awwwww", and they'd start to try to peck me. I ran away far, knowing the chick was quite a defender as well as the mother duck. Suddenly I noticed I was far from the orphanage. Then, next thing I knew was I was in a vehicle with a stranger driving me.

Suddenly a bunch of cars came behind us. Not just any cars, police cars. The stranger took me out of the car and brought me to somewhat of a junkyard, but it turns out it was a dead end. The cops told us to raise our hands in the air. I did, but then called out names of kids that inspired the citizens and even the cops that we're all in the junkyard. In the news I became part of an inspirational newspaper. It may of changed my life forever. It may of not been like exactly the dream, but it was close. I was very glad I could make the story possible one day, as well as making my dream forever remembered. - Emma Manning
