1500 years and over 40 authors

It is written over a span of 1500 years by prophets that speak for the Lord. Throughout its pages there are over 40 authors writing a total of 66 books.

Bible = Books

The word Bible means books. It is a collection of a group of writings from different prophets. These writing were all brought together to make one book.

The Old Testament

The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew. It is broken into five parts: The Pentateuch (The Law), the history, the poetic writings, the major prophets, and the minor prophets.

The New Testament

The New Testament was originally written in Greek. It tells the life of Jesus Christ and the stories of the prophets after his life.

But let's get a little more in depth than that

There are many different versions of the Bible now. You can find nearly any style you like. The Kin James version is the most widely used and seen as the most correctly translated of the versions.

Johannes Guttenberg

Up until Johannes Guttenberg came along the Bible was passed by word of mouth and by those that painstakingly copied it word for word. With the invention of the printing press millions of copies could go out in a year rather than a few copies in a year.
