Where I am- 1/9/16

Group

• This week I was asked by Joe if he could work in my group. Nicola advised this was a good idea so now I am working in a group with Joe

Song Choice

• This week I narrowed the song choices down to two Birdy songs- 'Beautiful Lies' or 'Unbroken'
• Me and Joe listened to the song and decided that 'Unbroken' was the better choice because the piano is much smoother in that track and sounds better suited to a beach location.

Location

• I really wanted to film at Saltburn beach because I think the aesthetic of that location will look really effective in an indie music video. Saltburn also has a nice forrest area near the beach I think would be nice to film in.
• I also want to film my performing playing piano in the studio.

Performer

• I want to find a performer who can sing and play piano in a semi-professional way. This is because I want a confident performer who isn't camera shy. I think someone who is experienced in performing will look better on camera.
• I have a mutual acquaintance who I know can do both these skills- I plan on asking them to be in it in the next week.

Costume

• For costume I want to take inspiration from Birdy's 'Skinny Love' music video and have my performer in a white dress. This is because I want my video to be as naturally aesthetic as possible because that seems to be a convention in indie music videos.

Lighting

• I plan on using natural lighting whilst filming on location as I want to film during sunrise at the beach in order to get some silohetted shots.
• I will probably used ambient lighting in the studio- either dim lights or if the college will allow I would like to use candles however I am pretty sure that the risk assessment surrounding that lighting choice is not worth the effort. I may use fairy lights as well.
