I am from the dog hair in every corner
Brown, huge.
It felt soft and warm
I am from the Daisy flower the Tulips
bright and pretty.
I’m from the board games and stubborn
From Judy and Larry.
I’m from the loud talking
and getting it done.
From being respectful
and not wasting food.
I’m from believing in God and the world of faith and that families are forever.
I’m from Canada and Florida
Fried chicken and potatoes.
From my grandpa’s tan hairy legs,
the eyes to keep my mother’s slight
under my closet with a box of old jewelry’s.
I am from those moments where I hope it gets better before it’s too late.
