Learning new languages

  • Chinese (simplified) 汉语/Hànyǔ - It's the official language of China, Taiwan, one of four languages of Singapore and one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Nearly 1.2 billion people (around 16% of the world's population) speak some form of Chinese as their 1st language. Chinese is now the second global language behind english.
  • I thought learning it would be worth-ed and I don't mind a challenge. China's economy is thriving fast. Chinese skills are quite rare so it can make you an appealing hire. If you can speak fluent both Chinese and English then you are already above the wage's of average people, do to lack of people in the Western business world that can do so. After you get a hang of Chinese, it makes it easier to learn the Kanji alphabet in Japanese cause it's 70% Chinese Hànyǔ alphabet. Chinese's music can be impressive.
  • I started learning Chinese on November last year. I did it for 3 months but I'm currently taking a break from. I've already found a Language centre near where I live so I'm planning on applying maybe next month.

Archery

  • The word was originated from the Latin arcus. It's a sport where you practice to use a bow and arrows to shoot a target point. Back in old times, archery was used for hunting and combat. A person that engages in archery are typically called an archer or a bowman.
  • It's a lifetime sport. You can be as young as 8 or perhaps in your 70's-80's and still can compete. It's totally suitable for non competitive people to play it just for fun and exercise. It helps you build self-esteem,enjoy a sense of accomplishment, improving focus, patience and even math skills.
  • I've played twice and am planning on doing a beginner's course in Randwick Archery Club.

Singing

  • It's an act of expressing yourself through music. A person who sings is called a singer or vocalist. Singing can be formal or informal, arranged or improvised. It may be done for religious devotion, as a hobby, as a source of pleasure, comfort, or ritual, as part of music education, or as a profession. There are many genres of singing styles for examples Opera, Gospel, traditional music styles, world music, jazz, blues and popular music styles such as pop and rock. It's a fulfilling hobby.
