Psalm 107:1-9

7 He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.
8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
9 for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story — those he redeemed from thehand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.

He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Reach Out to God

those who do end up giving thanks
Because they experience God's goodness

Realize God is worthy of a palce of importance and respect in their lives

Realize God is the source of their success, prosperity, and an overall sense of well-being

both of whcih lead us to as the phrase goes - "being in a good place"

all of this in the word GOOD - a good God is worth giving thanks for

And what makes God good?

His enduring love - one of the best description for which is found in 1 Corinthians 13....especially tonight as we focus on the enduring nature of God's love - to be so moved with compassion for someone else that you are compelled to act on tehir behalf, often at great cost to yourself

this love lasts.....as ! Cor 13:13 reminds us....And now these three remain, (are still standing, will always be in the mix.....) But the greatest of these is love.

Thankful People?

Who are these
Who are these thankful people in particular?

1. Those who have been redeemed - bought with a price

2. Those who have been rescued from the enemy

which could be explained in several ways, one which is seeing death defeated.....

Rev. 20:14 - Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death

Rev. 21:4 - 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed
away.”

3. Those who have been

East, West, North, South

God Gathers from
3. Those Gathered by God

from east, west, north and south....

that pretty well covers it....

Just in case people you know don't think the risen savior can have any practical impact in our lives......

the most necessary categories of living they are going without, looking and looking everywhere except to God,

Until they are so desperate they are nearly dead.....and then

We ahve a savior who can impact our lives now!! and this season of preparation is a time to be reminded of a God of love who has come to make a difference today!!

Call out to God today!! You don't have to wait until you are desperate
