WHY DID SETTLERS GO TO THE NORTHWEST?

BY LECSY

Settlers traveled to the northwest for reasons including the area, new technology, and social reasons.

AREA
In chapter 3, it states that "There was a chance to see new country and have an adventure." The words "new country", fit into the category "area". Also, in chapter 3, it states that, "Good farmland was available for a low cost." "Good farmland" also fits into the km category of area. Settlers wanted to find a new area to live.

Technology
In chapter 3, it states that, "Merchants, doctors, and lawyers came to start businesses." That is straight from the text. It proves that people did come for new technology reasons, such as starting a business. When the people started a business, I led people to explore new technology.
