This is a correlation of the population versus time. As you can tell, it has been a pretty steady increase. And using the line of best fit, we can pretty easily predict the population in the coming years. By 2020, the population of our city should be well over 900,000 and by 2025, Austin could be the home of 1,000,000 people! This graph was very important to our project because we related most of our data back to here. We looked at the years where there was the most population growth (such as 2000) and the least population growth (such as 1990) and then looked up significant events during that time that could have caused the change.

The northwest has a very light crime rate, while the south west has a moderate violent crime rate. The northeast has a light to moderate crime rate, in contrast to the south east which has a pretty heavy violent crime rate.
