PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Emotional Reasons
some teens use drugs to help them through depression or any issues that can alter their mental health. Ex- Alcohol.
However, teens are not aware of the consequences that come with using drugs. It can make their mental health worse and damage their physical health as well.
Insecurities
insecurities can lead to teens using drugs that can "improve" their body image and desires. Ex- Steroids
But, using this drug can cause worse damage on body image because it can make hair loss happen almost immediately or earlier in life, more diseases are likely to expose themselves to teens as well.
Medical
Rarely, people get addicted to drugs they are prescribed by doctors because they have "desirable" side effects. Ex- marijuana
Using this drug can lead to a loss at what is reality and can increase diseases in that family.
Partying/Peer Pressure
most teens first take drugs because of peer pressure from parties. Fellow peers from school can make one feel guilty for not taking drugs. Ex- GHB
On the contrary, succumbing to peer pressure is a bad way to start drugs all together, using these party drugs can make one do things they can regret because one doesn't think when experiencing the side effects of party drugs.
Advertising
Some drug companies promote their products without mentioning all side effects, only the "good ones", this can attract teens into thinking that it is safe to take these drugs. Ex- Ecstasy (heightens sensations, one may say it helps with studying etc.)
But, not knowing that it is false advertising, can lead to teens making bad decisions in trusting that drugs can be safe.
