3 REASONS OF WHY THE ROMAN EMPIRE FELL

THE PLAUGE

  • The plauge caused a very unstable empire.
  • It killed thousands of people including soldiers in Rome.
  • There was a great decline in farmers which lead to a fall in the economy.
  • The plauge wiped out 1/10 of the roman population.
  • This was number 1 because it led to their unstable empire.

OVER EXPANSION

  • The roman empire grew as it conquered many states
  • Even with their great roads and walls, they weren't able to control the empire.
  • They didn't have much money for fortification of the states because the low taxes.
  • Invasions from the germans caused the romans to spend their money on the army
  • This is number two because this the romans weren't able to control the empire.

22 EMPERORS

  • After marcus aurelis, their were 22 emperors started ruling Rome.
  • All the emperors wanted to individually rule, this is why they fought eachother to the death.
  • Another leader could step up at any time but they were afraid of the chaos politically.
  • The people of rome didn't know who to trust because there was no consistant leadership.
  • This is the 3rd reason because the epperors fighting and causing rome to crash politically
