Ancient Egyptians believed that the world was flat and made of clay. They thought that it floated on a large sea of water and that the Nile River was one of the springs from this water. They thought that all of the forces of nature could be identified as the children of a creator god. They believed the universe was set in an established way of ‘balance’ as well as ‘truth’

Throughout the history of ancient egypt there were lots of different gods and goddesses. Each of these gods and goddesses had there own role to maintain the harmony and peace. Part of these gods and goddesses took part of the flood each year and the other part of the gods and goddesses took part in the creation while others offered protection. Then you had the normal gods and godesses that cared individuals after they left the earth. Then you had the minor gods that represented the animals and plants

In conclusion the ancient Egyptians needed religion for their world and life to run smoothly and the pharaoh needed religion so that he could control his people.
