PRESENTATION OUTLINE

WIND ENERGY

ELECTRICAL ENERGY OBTAINED FROM HARNESSING THE WIND WITH WINdMILLS.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Wind blows toward the the rotor blades.
  • The rotor spins around slowly getting some of the wind.
  • Rotor blades swivel on top and the front of the hub for the best angle of the wind.
  • Inside the nacelle the gearbox converts lowspeed rotation into highspeed rotation.
  • The generator immediately take the kinetic energy From The Spinning drive and turns it into electrical energy.

CURRNT USE OF WIND ENERGY

  • Windmills
  • Wind powered vehicles
  • Wind powered sports
  • Wind powered water pumps

POSITIVE EFFECTS

  • Free fuel
  • Doesn't take much space
  • Killer blades
  • Many shapes and sizes

NEGATIVE EFFECTS

  • Wind turbines are noisy
  • Aren't very pleasing to look at
  • The strength is not always constant and,
  • Varies from zero to storm force.
