HISTORY OF THE WINTER OLYMPICS

• The first Olympics was in Chamonix,France,and the date is January 25,1924.
• The 5 rings stand for the 5 chief regions of the world Africa,The Americans,Asia,Europe,Oceania.
• The winter sports are cross country,skiing,figure skating,freestyle skating,ice hockey,curling,bobsleigh.
• The president of Russia is not allowing bisexual people in the Winter Olympics .
• The 2014 Olympic mascots are the hare the polar bear and the leopard .

WINTER OLYMPICS SPORTS

• Figure skating is when you glide down on an ice rink and do turns and flips for the judges.
• There are 18 American figure skaters.
• These are the gold medalist in the USA a few years back Shizuka Arakawa,Sarah Hughes ,Tara lipinski ,Oksana Bajul.

• Gracie gold is a figure skater.
• She has not won any medals ,she is 18 years old.
• She is from Newton, Massachusetts .
• She won a silver medal in 2010 from the junior championship .
• Gracie gold got her first pair of skates when she was 2.
