THEIR ROLES

• Women participate in the violent aspects, but they serve a "dual role".
• They are also expected to cook and care for children.
• Women are often used for drug deals because they are less conspicuous than men.
• Also used to gather information about other gangs for the same reason listed above.

Although female gang members are known to engage in violent conflicts usually involving their fists or knives, a study suggest that gun use is on the rise.
