Moses
God made the people of Israel his own people and revealed his law (The Ten Commandments). As descendants of Abraham they have a special mission to the nations to bring the world closer to God.
God's Promise to David
The dynasty of David would last forever. Hopes would be fulfilled in the hope of a future Messiah who would restore the Kingdom to Israel.

Levirate Marriage
Nearest male relative had to take the widow of childless brother into his home and treat her as his own wife and raise children through her in the name of his brother.
Judah's response:
"Bring her out; let her be burned."
But, then:
"She is in the right rather than I, since I did not give her to my son Shelah."

Ruth's Oath to Naomi:
"Wherever you go I will go, wherever you lodge I will lodge.
Your people shall be my people and your God, my God."
(Ruth 1:16)
Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, "I would like to go and glean grain in the field of anyone who will allow me." Ruth 2:2
"I am your servant Ruth. Spread the wing of your cloak over your servant, for you are a redeemer." (Ruth 3:9)
Then the women said to Naomi, "Blessed is the Lord who has not failed to provide you today with a redeemer. May he become famous in Israel. He will restore your life and be the the support of your old age, for his mother is the daughter-in-law that loves you. She is worth more to you than seven sons!" (Ruth 4:14-15)
