WOMEN ENTERED THE WAR AFTER THE U.S

  • They entered the war in 1917.
  • This increased support for women suffrage.
  • Contributed to the 19th amendment.
  • Men left their jobs so women filled them.
  • Women were forced in their husbands spot when they died

  • One thing they sent was weapons.

DR. ANNA SHAW

  • Was head of women national defense.
  • Coordinated their war efforts.
  • She Died July 2, 1919.
  • Was also a physician.

WOMEN ENTERED IN NEW WAYS

  • Entered the navy
  • Marines
  • Lots of nurses
  • 68% of women changed their jobs.
  • Coast Guard,etc

MARY VAN KLEECK

  • Head of industry service.
  • Which then became women's bureau.
  • Born June 26,1883 Glenham, New York.
  • She Died June 8,1972.
