Paul gives instructions to Timothy to protect the faith and not get involved with false disputes, and to continue to follow Paul’s example of fidelity to the truth in Jesus Christ.
Acts 16:1-3
“He reached Derbe and Lystra where there was a disciple named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was Greek. The brothers ...spoke highly of him and Paul wanted him to come along with him. On account of the Jews of that region, Paul had him circumcised, for they all knew his father was Greek.
As they traveled from city to city, they handed on to the people for observance the decisions reached by the apostles and presbyters in Jerusalem. Day after day the churches grew stronger in faith and increased in number.”

(Acts 5:4-5)
After an interval of three hours, his wife came in, unaware of what happened. Peter said to her,”tell me, did you sell the land for this amount?” She answered, “Yes, for that amount.
