WOMEN IN THE WORK FORCE

• With the absence of the men the women joined the work force
• Jobs they took over: working in the factory with heavy machinery
• Public tranportation, and police work etc.

MUNITIONS FACTORIES

• Women made almost all of the weapons and ammunition for the war
• These factories were mostly in Britain and later the united states
• Worked with hazardous chemicals like TNT makimg their skim yellow
• Many women died because of poor protection against these chemicals

THE PUSH FOR EQUAL WAGES

• In the beginning women were paid half of what men got
• Later in the war women went on strike for equal pay
• The reasons they did not get paid equally were:
• They were weaker and had special medical reasons that men didn't
