A little something about RJ Palacio
RJ Palacio lives in NYC with her two sons and husband.
RJ has worked in a book jacket designing company for many years. Finally she decided to write her first novel Wonder.
The Plot
August Pullman is an ordinary ten year old boy. He loves eating ice cream and riding a bike like every other kid. But August knows he's not ordinary.August has a rare form of Cranofacial anomaly. August has had 28 surgeries and is not having another for a while. He has always been homeschooled. But this year he will be attending Beecher Prep. Will this be a good thing or a horrifying mistake?
The story takes place at Beecher Prep Middle School in North River Heights, Upper Manhattan.

Via is wonderful protective sister. She truly understands August and knows the spotlight never shines her way. The protective side of her is when someone shoots a look at August she always gives them a glare back saying"Hey would you like people to stare
at you?"

Summer Dawson
Summer really shows how brave she is in this book. She comes over and sits with August the first day and did not care what the other girls thought. She was one of August's first true friends.

Julian Albans
The primary antagonist. He tries to cause a big commotion when August comes to Beecher Prep and he wants everyone to turn on August. Julian is a vain, cruel monster. Julian wants to rule the 5th grade.

Daisy
Daisy was August and Via's first dog. She and August are two peas in a pod.She was an old dog, and she dies at the vet's office after getting sick.
Jack Will
August's best friend. Jack was asked by Mr. Tushman to tour August around school with Charlotte and Julian. At first he gets too caught up with being popular. But then he realized that August is a sweet nice kid and they became friends. In the middle of the book their friendship falls apart. But then they make up and their friendship deepens.

They care a lot about August but still leave a little time for Via. Isabel is a overprotective mother, meanwhile Nate wants August to grow up.

Review on Wonder
Wonder is an uplifting tale of a disfigured boy with inner beauty.
I would totally recommend it to 11 year olds and up.
Wonder had a lot of positive role models and a tear jerking message.
