PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Dear Liam,
My first experience of you was on paper. I learned about your background and medical conditions. But I didn't learn WHO you were.
You came to visit in January.You came to the door timidly and said you didn't want the kids to see you. You borrowed the principal's phone. This is a photo you took from the cloakroom.
Liam, we began to see your personality through your stories. You frequently speak in narratives that allow us to glimpse into your interests and past experiences.
"He's going to get you and you have to hide from the neighbour he's going to find us." We learned many of your narratives involve a video game you play at home.
Liam, you are stories and movement. You are bursts of energy. You are running and jumping and climbing. We decided to work on helping to manage your energy to keep you safe at school and on the area of self-regulation.
Liam, you were very receptive to meditation and learning breathing techniques. You breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Liam, you are sometimes able to find a place of calm.
Liam, you are curious and complex. You are so much more than words on paper. You are trying your best and exhibit a desire to learn. You want to establish friendships and are learning how to communicate with others. I look forward to seeing your continued growth.
