WORKERS IN THE VINEYARD

PARABLE

• A laborer hired men to work in his vineyard at different times
• He offered them each a full days pay
• At the end of the day they all got paid the same amount
• The men who worked all day got upset

PARABLE (CONTINUED)

• The laborer responded, "Did I not offer you a full day's wage?"
• He asked, "Are you upset that I am being generous?"
• "Thus the last shall be first and first shall be last."

MEANING

• The ones that have the least will be rewarded
• The ones that find God last will be first
• They are equal to those before them
• The lowest are equal to the highest in the Heaven
