  • 1,500,000 have part time jobs
  • 1,500,000 are unemployed

TEXTILE FACTORIES

  • No laws regulating
  • Made skilled workers unemployed
  • Skilled workers used to earn 20-30
  • Workers in factories earned less than 5

COMBINATION ACTS

  • 1799 and 1800
  • Illegal to unionize and combine
  • Could not ask for better working conditions

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Worked 10-14 hours
  • 6 days a week
  • No vacation or holidays
  • Injured workers would lose their job
  • No health care or financial compensation
