The Employer Must Share the Following Info:

  • The fire and lock-down procedures for the company, and where the nearest fire exits are located
  • Where the nearest WHMIS Material Safety Data Sheets are located
  • The location of first-aid kits and contact numbers in the case of emergencies
  • The operation guides to any possible machines if there are any

The Employer Must Share the Following Info:

  • The exact job description, and the new worker's boundaries and limitations
  • In the case of a fire, whoever is at the scene must make sure that the emergency exits are not blocked
  • All safety wear must be worn at all times
  • Any cabinets that contain hazardous materials must be securely closed at all times. If they are open, tell someone.

In Terms of Training, the Employer Must:

  • Properly teach and train the new worker on basics of how to run the machines, and quick tips to ensure that no one gets hurt
  • Give the new worker all the basic information on where things are located and who to call for assistance.

In Terms of Training, the Employer Must:

  • Run through basic safety procedures to make sure that the new worker is properly informed; usually through orientations
  • Make sure that the new worker is properly updated on WHMIS symbols and that they understand how to read the MSDS'
  • Teach the new worker how to train others

In Terms of Equipment, the Employer Must:

  • Inform the new workers of how to use the machines properly and any precautions that they must take before starting them
  • Certain locks on the machines that have to be closed before work can be started.

In Terms of Equipment, the Employer Must:

  • Show the new worker specified safety wear that must be worn when operating that particular machine
  • Inform the new worker how to do weekly safety checks on the equipment that is being used in the workplace
  • Teach the new worker how to fix possible problems in the machines

  • This presentation is for new workers to inform them of what to expect when they join the workforce
  • The new workers can watch this presentation during their training session for the job

  • This topic relates to careers because during the certain points in our lives when we are about to enter the workforce, we need to know what to expect and how the whole experiance will be
  • This presentation is for new workers to understand the whole work experiance and how it will affect them

As seen in the article "The Negative Effects of a Lack of Training in the Workplace" by Chron Magazine (2015), workplace training about safety is vital in Careers because it keeps individuals aware of the type of training they must get in order to be successful in their job. The article outlines the various consequences that can result from employers assuming the new workers already know enough to be successful and safe in their new job.
