WORLD WAR II:

  • 50-85 million people died in World War 2
  • World War 2 was the deadliest conflict in all of human history
  • Fought as 2 military alliances:Allies/Axis Powers

  • 85% of the people who died were on the Allies side and 15% of the people were on the Axis side
  • 1/3 of the Soviet army women and children

WORLD WAR II:

  • German a Tigers were the most feared tanks, but they were outnumbered by the US Shermans and the Soviet T-34s
  • Only about 1,250 Tigers were made, but they were dwarfed by over 40,000 Shermans and 35,000 T-34

WORLD WAR II:

  • The most powerful battleships ever made were the Japanese Yamato and the Musashi. Despite being armed with the biggest guns in history, they never went to ship vs ship combat.
  • Fun fact: Those two monster ships were sunk by planes!
