ALL ABOUT SIEGFRIED

  • He was born on September 8, 1886.
  • Sasson never got a college diploma.
  • On June 1916 he was awarded the Military Cross.
  • He was awarded this honor for bringing back the wounded to Britian.
  • Much of his works were insipered and written based on World War I.

ALL ABOUT SIEGFRIED (CONTINUED)

  • He did not fight much in the War, primarily from his injuries.
  • Sasson was moved to England to prevent futher injury in tne war.
  • Then the Armistic was signed, which stopped the fighting and made a truce.
  • He then became the literary editor of the left-wing at The Daily Herald.
  • Some time after he died on September 1, 1967.

FUN FACTS ABOUT SEIGFRIED

  • He was homosexual and dated many people who where homosexual too.
  • Sasson was married to Hester Gatty with one child, but divorce her.
  • Siegfried took over a German trench all by himself, killing 50 Germans.
  • He converted to Roman Catholicism close to death.
  • When he converted he visited nuns of Stanbrook Abbey many times.

  • Siegfried did participate in major World War Two battles.
  • He did not enter the war till 1915.
  • He fought in the Western Front, for some of the war.
  • During the War his brother had died, which affected him.
  • His injury's included anything from a broken arm to "shell shock" (a mental disease).

  • Seigfried was a well-dressed warrior from his bravery.
  • During the war, Sasson had depression triggering suicidal risks.
  • These risks earned him the nickname "Mad Jack".
  • Most of his peom were inspired by The Great War and his expierences in it.

  • The basic situation of it is praying for worldly things.
  • The imagery is imaging things like bees and flowers, and also twilight.
  • Mainly the mood is serious.
  • The title's Significance was it is simple prayer that children would say before bed.

MY RESPONSE

  • This poem is so easy in terms to read and comprehend.
  • I would love to read this each night before I go to bed or simply just to say it.
  • The best part of the poem is how vivid the wording is.
  • An example of this vivid wording is "..For the big Bees that hum And hide in bells of flowers.."
  • But the feature that stands out to me is how short and descriptive it is.
