WWI
WWI was started because of the assassination of archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary.
He was assassinated by Serbian Nationalists.
The war was fought between the Allies and the central powers. The allies at the start of the war were the united kingdom, the Russian empire and France. The central powers were mainly Germany and Austria-Hungary.
The United States didn't enter the war until 1917 ,but gave the Allies supplies most of the war. The US actually entered the war because German U-Boats attacked American ships suspected of bring supplies to the Allies.
The war ended in 1918 with the Allies winning. Although the central powers lost Germany ultimately was the biggest loser because they had to pay for all the damages.
