- wrought iron was first used for weapons but as time passed it started being used to cover doors and windows as protection.
- Demand for wrought iron was strongest in 1860's when iron started becoming popular.
- Generally there are two different types of wrought iron, charcoal and puddle iron.
- One of the first ways they started to produce wrought iron and other iron was in bloomeries, a sort of furnace with a pit and chimney.
- "Wrought iron" comes from the word work, so the term basically means worked iron.
