AIRPLANES

• Made of wood,wire, and canvas
• Used to observe enemy groups
• Can be used to gun down troops on the ground
• Also used to drop bombs later on in the war
• Airplanes attacked each other in fights called dog fights

CHEMICAL WARFARE

• 1915- Germans used poison gas as a surprise attack
• Poison gas also used in bullets to shoot at enemy lines
• Gas masks: created by allies b/c it was a surprise attack
• A new mask was developed every time there was a new gas

HIRAM MAXIM

• What is it?:Machine gun
• Had one barrel to fire many rounds at once
• Revolutionized warfare
• Prevented having to reload rounds all the time
