HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN WORLD WAR TWO?

  • Over 60 million people were killed which was about 3% of the 1940 world population,with estimates of total death ranging from 50 million to more than 80 milllion.

HOW MAY PEOPLE WERE HELPED?

  • 182 159 people were helped by the international resume organisation (IRO) from the end of the WW2 to come to Australia for safety reasons
  • It was not safe in Europe

HOW DID THE POPULATION INCREASE?

  • WW2 was a war between lots of countries fighting against each other. After the war people immigrated to Australia, for safety reasons. Approximately 7 million people travelled to Australia after WW2.

WHY DID PEOPLE IMMIGRATE TO AUSTRALIA AFTER WORLD WAR 2?

  • 7 million people came to Australia after WW2 because of war, belief (religion) or race. Some people had to go to Australia because houses were destroyed and they had no where to live and they wanted to start a new life
